Shortcut mania
I've recently decided I should become better att using shortcuts since it is a way for me to strive to improve.
I found this article at www.idg.se about some simple shortcuts in Win7 that I didn't already know and that i felt I had to share. Even though most people probably already know some or all of these maybe someone will get something out of it. :)
These are all gathered from the article but translated so that everyone can enjoy:
Ctrl+Shift+N
Creates a new folder.
Win+Space
Basically it makes all the windows transparent and displays the desktop. Though I haven't figured out any scenario where I would use it other than to show everyone my awesome desktop background.
Win+Home
Minimize everything except the active window. Toggles back and forth.
Win+Up
Maximize the window or toggle back if it is minimized
Win+Down
Minimize the window or toggle back if it is maximized
Win+ Right arrow / Left arrow
Moves a window from side to side. Very useful if you want to tile them next to eachother.
Win + D
Minimize all the application windows. Toggles back and forth.
Win+T
Toggles between the applications on your task bar.
Win+1, Win+2 and so on...
Either open the item on your task bar or open a new item if there aren't any already open. Keep Shift pressed down to force open a new instance of that program.
Win+(+/-)
Zoom in or out of a program.
Win+Shift+ Left / Right
If you have double monitors then you can easily move a window from one monitor to another with these shortcus. Very useful if you have for instance a virtual desktop on one of the monitors and behind it you have lost one of your application windows.
Win+Pause
A very easy way to access system information.
F2
Rename a file.
Hopefully you'll find something you didn't already know. :)
